Dr Sharma, Project Director and
Research Manager is heading PDP since 2000. Dr Sharma obtained doctoral degree
in animal genetics and breeding from Indian Veterinary Research Institute,
Izatnagar, UP, India. He supervised several masters and doctoral students. His
interests include research management, monitoring and coordination of research
activities of PDP including AICRP network centres across the country, besides
working for upliftment of weaker sections of society in rural/tribal areas
through poultry development. He is recipient of ICAR Award for Team Research
for the Biennium 2003-2004 and award of Indian Poultry Science Association.

Dr. Shyam
Sunder
obtained his doctoral degree from Kolkata, India. His research interests
include avian nutrition (Chicken), trace mineral interactions and their
influence on broiler performance, mineral bioavailability and immune competence.
Dr Shyam Sunder won the best poster award (as team leader) in the XX World
Poultry Congress, New Delhi, 1996.

Dr.
Chatterjee obtained his doctoral degree in Animal Genetics and Breeding from
C.S.Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, India. His research
interests are poultry breeding and molecular genetics. Dr Chetterjee received
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Award for Research for the biennium 2002-2003, ICAR Award
for Team Research for the Biennium 2001-2002 and best poster award in SOCDAB, 2004.

Dr S.V.Rama Rao, M.V.Sc, Ph.D
Senior Scientist (Avian Nutrition)
Dr. Rama Rao obtained his
doctoral degree in Poultry Science from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University.
His area of interest is mineral nutrition specifically to enhance phytate
phosphorus utilization through nutritional approaches, nutritional modulation
for better performance and immune competence in chicken. He also worked to find
out alternate feed ingredients for maize and soybean in chicken diet. He got
several recognitions from various organizations like ICAR Young Scientist
Award, ICAR Award for Team Research, CLFMA Award, gold medals in University.
Team lead by Dr Rao bagged best research abstract and research paper from
National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Indian Poultry Science
Association.

Dr Raju obtained his doctoral degree in Poultry Science from University of Agri.
Sciences, Bangalore, India. His research interests include mycotoxins and other
feed toxins, broiler breeder nutrition and feed additives for enhancing
performance of chicken. Dr Raju received best poster award in World’s Poultry
Congress 1996, New Delhi; IPSA Kerala chapter award for poultry nutrition
(2003, 2004, 2005), Dabur Ayurvet Award (2005) and University Gold Medals.

Dr Reddy obtained his Ph.D. in avian health from Melbourne University,
Australia. He is a member of Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in
Avian Health (poultry). His research interests include avian disease diagnosis
and control, avian tumour viruses, immunomodulation and immunosuppressive
diseases.

Dr Panda obtained his doctoral
degree in animal nutrition from IVRI, Izatnagar, India. His research interests
include neonatal nutrition for optimising performance and immunocompetence in
broilers; microbial feed additives for enhancing performance and recycling of
poultry house waste for minimizing environmental pollution. Dr Panda received
several awards and medals including University gold medals, Research Award in
Poultry Nutrition (Kerala Chapter), Young Scientist Award of ANA for
contribution to nutritional research and Dr. N. D. Kehar award for best Ph.D
research.
