ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad organized a Farmers' awareness campaign on 'Balanced Use of Fertilizers' on 18.06.2021 as a part of the celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence. The concept of Poultry Waste Management and the advantages of making compost and vermicompost out of poultry litter was explained to the farmers. Dr. R.K.Mahapatra, Pr. Scientist demonstrated the methodology for preparing compost and vermicompost utilizing poultry litter. Dr. R. N. Chatterjee, Director briefed about the benefits of organic farming and conversion of Waste into Wealth. A total of 54 participants including farmers and staff attended the program. Dr. S.P.Yadav coordinated the program. The program was organized by following the COVID-19 guidelines.
