SC Sub Plan: Input distribution programme in Vikarabad District

ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad organized awareness programme about “Backyard poultry farming” and distributed inputs to SC beneficiaries to start backyard poultry farming at Chinchalpet, Bomraspet and Chowderpalle villages in Vikarabad District, Telangana under SC Sub Plan on 11-09-2019 and 13-09-2019, respectively. Beneficiaries had  already undergone training on “Backyard Poultry Rearing” at ICAR-DPR.  

In Chinchalpet village, 31 SC beneficiaries were provided with 17-19 Vanaraja birds (6 weeks of age),  20kg feed, one feeder, one waterer and medicine kits per each beneficiary on 11-09-2019. A total of 560 Vanaraja birds, 620kg feed, 31 feeders, 31 waterers and medicine kits were distributed. These in the programme, sarpanch and other panchayat officials of the village participated and appreciated the efforts of DPR in improving nutritional security and livelihood security of the poor SC families. The programme was coordinated by the Dr.A.Kannan, Dr.Chandan Paswan and Sh.D.Pratap from SC subplan team of the Directorate.

  

In Bomraspet and Chowderpalle villages, a total of 34 SC beneficiaries were provided with 19-21 grown up birds, 20kg feed, one feeder, one waterer and medicine kits per each beneficiary. A total of 690 grown up birds, 680 kg feed, 34 feeders, 34 waterers and medicine kits were distributed. Local veterinary officer Dr Jyotsna also participated in the programme and appreciated the efforts of the Directorate in promoting rural poultry farming. Detailed inputs for rearing the birds under village conditions along with relevant literature in Telugu are provided to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries thanked the Directorate for providing training and inputs for increasing their income and livelihood security.
