Input distribution program for socioeconomic development of tribal people under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP)  

ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad is dedicated to enhance the socioeconomic condition of poultry farmers through their capacity building, introduction of improved varieties of     rural/ backyard chicken and other support systems. On 27th December 2019 an input distribution program was organized at in Gattepally village of Adilabad district of Telangana in association with Eklavya Foundation under Tribal Sub Plan.  After proper training, 35 tribal beneficiaries of 5 villages (Kolamgudda, Tekdiguda, Gattepally, Seethguda and Male Borgoan) were provided grownup birds of Vanaraja and Gramprya varieties along with feed, medicines and poultry equipments. Each farmer gets 20 birds, 20 kg feed and other support system.  Dr.R.N.Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Shri Venugopal Reddy, Chairman, Ekalavya Foundation and team of scientists participated in the program.  The scientists visited different tribal villages and collected the feedback and visualized the impact of backyard poultry introduced earlier under TSP Program. Performance of chicks reared at different places was also evaluated and suitable suggestions were provided.
