Input distribution program in tribal village under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP)  

Input distribution program was organized at Moriguda village (Mamda Mandal) of Adilabad (United) District on 30-10-2019 under Tribal Sub Plan. ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad introduced rural/ backyard chicken farming with improved and native chicken, with an aim to improve the income and living standards of tribal farmers. Team of Scientists of this Directorate interacted with tribal beneficiaries. Benefits of backyard farming with native and Vanaraja and its management practices under free range backyard system were explained to the tribal farmers. A total of 30 tribal beneficiaries were provided with grownup birds, feed and poultry equipments. A total of 480 Ghagus and Vanaraja grownup birds, 450 kg feed, 30 feeders, 30 waterers and medicine kits were distributed. Team also visited to different tribal villages (Birsaipet, Utnoor, Thatiguda, Indervelly, Madaguda) to collect the feedback and visualize the impact of backyard poultry introduced earlier under TSP Program. Performance of chicks reared at Mother Unit, ITDA, Utnoor was also evaluated and suitable suggestions were provided.
