ICAR –DPR organized  birds distribution programme at Thimmampet  village, Jangaon  District under SCSP 

ICAR –DPR organized birds and input distribution programme under the SC Subplan,   on “Backyard poultry farming” at  Thimmampet Village, Zaffargadh Mandal, Jangaon District (earlier Warangal district) Telangana on 13-12-2019. A total of 40 farmers were provided birds and inputs during the programme.  Each beneficiary was provided with 18-19 Vanaraja birds (7 weeks of age), 25kg feed, one feeder and one waterer. A total of 880 Vanaraja birds, 1000kg feed, 40 feeders, 40  waterers and medicine kits were distributed. Detailed inputs for rearing the birds under village conditions along with relevant literature in Telugu were provided to the beneficiaries. Assistant Director (V&AH), Thimmampet and Assistant Director (V& AH), Jangaon, Department of Animal husbandry, Telangana state  participated in the programme and advised the farmers on importance of the rearing backyard poultry for improving nutritional security and additional income. Feeding and health management of the birds were explained to them. The programme was coordinated by Dr.U.Rajkumar, Principal Scientist, Dr A.Kannan, Principal Scientist, Dr.B.Prakash, Senior Scientist,   Sh. A.V.G.K, Murthy, Administrative officer and Sh.D.Pratap, Technical Officer of the Directorate.
