Banners are displayed in prominent places to create awareness. All the staff members of the institute took active part for taking Swachhta pledge. Dr. R.S.Gandhi, ADG(AP&B). ICAR, Dr. R.N.Chatterjee, Director, DPR and members of IMC, DPR planted trees during the occasion. The staff members also planted the trees in the institute campus.

Digitization of office records and e-office implementation was initiated. Cleanliness drive including cleaning of offices, corridors and premises was done. Review of progress on weeding out old records was done.

Collected biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes from residential colonies and spread awareness among residents about cleanliness and waste segregation. Institute staff actively participated in cleaning activities in area inside the campus.

Cleanliness and sanitation drive was done in the village involving village community. Cleanliness awareness program was also done in the village. Reviewed the progress of ongoing Swachhta activities including implementation of SAP & providing at the spot solutions.

Stock taking of waste management & other activities including utilization of organic wastes/ generation of wealth from waste was done. Spread awareness among the staff and farm workers about the importance of compost and vermicompost. How to make use of waste to convert into useful product. Showed compost and vermicompost pits. Spread awareness for not using single use plastics.

The cleaning of sewerage & water lines were done by the staff members inside the institute campus.

Conducted rally in the public place to spread awareness about cleanliness among general public. The staff members also took active part in cleaning the bus stop (public place) at Rajendranagar.

Special Day- Kisan Diwas (Farmer’s Day) celebrated in the village named Hanuman nagar where all the staff members of the institute took active part. Further, the staff members also participated in the cleaning activity in the village. The farmers also took part in cleaning the premises of the village.

Swachhta Awareness program was organized at local level with the help of the farmers, farm women and village youth in new village not adopted by any institute. Cleaning activity was also conducted where along with the staff members of the institute, farmers also actively participated in the event.

Quiz and essay competitions in Krishi High school, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad in relation to Swachhata activities, were conducted by our institute. Large number of students of standard VII, VIII and IX participated in the competitions. The winners of both the competitions will be suitably rewarded on the concluding day of the Swachhata Pakhwada by the Director, ICAR-DPR.

The staff members of the institute actively participated in cleaning activity inside the campus.The supporting staff also told not to use Single Use Plastic inside the campus.

The staff members of the institute visited the residential colonies of the PJTSA University campus and actively participated in cleaning activity. The residents and particularly the children were told to keep the surroundings clean and also they were told to minimize the use of polythene bags. The ladies were advised to dispose off the kitchen wastes in a pit so that they can make compost out of that.

A function was organized to distribute the prizes o the winners of the Quiz and Essay competitions which was held at Krishi High School, Rajendranagar. On this occasion Director, ICAR-DPR emphasized the importance of cleanliness in everybody’s life and also appealed all to extend full support and co-operation for such a genuine initiative.

A press meet was organized where press reporters came from Sakshi news. They asked about the activities conducted during Swachhata Pakhwada. Dr. R. N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR told that the staff members of the institute actively participated in many activities like spreading awareness among the villagers and school students about cleanliness by organizing quiz and essay competitions, explained the benefits of compost pits by utilizing kitchen wastes. We have organized Kisan Diwas on 23rd December, 2019 where we visited the village Hanuman nagar and shared our knowledge about Swachhata, compost preparation, minimizing the use of plastics, poultry husbandry etc. We have taken their views also on Swachhata. He further informed the reporters during the press meet that the institute staff also visited tourist spot, Himayat Sagar dam and cleaned the area. We went to different residential colonies of our institute as well as Agricultural University and sensitized the residents for disposing off the bio-degradable and bio- nondegradable wastes separately. Besides this, he also told the reporters that our staff took active part in digitalization of office records and also adopted online procedures for the purchase of items required by the institute. For maintaining clean and green environment, we conducted plantation programmes also. We have given a note on the activities conducted which is to be published in the daily news papers, Enadu and Sakshi for wide publicity.
