Poultry night shelter distribution programme at Mulpur village in Andhra Pradesh under DAPSC programme

An input distribution programme to start back yard poultry farming for improving livelihoods and nutritional security of SC families was organised at Mulpur, Amruthalur Mandal, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh under DAPSC programme of ICAR-DPR on 24-03-2021. A total of 100 chicken night shelters were distributed to 100 SC beneficiaries during the programme.  The night shelters will be useful for proper safe guarding of birds during night from predatory attacks and cold climate.  Scientific practices on rearing chicken under backyard farming system were explained to the beneficiaries. Feedbacks from the farmers were collected. The programme was conducted as per the latest guidelines issued by state and central government regarding COVID-19 control. Dr. M. Shanmugam, Senior Scientist and Dr. K.S. Rajaravindra, Senior Scientist, from ICAR-DPR coordinated the programme. Dr. B. Nagi Reddy, AD, State Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Munaiah, Mulpur VAS, Dr. P.Mounika, Amruthalur VAS and local panchayat members also participated in the programme.
